Announcing our New and Improved Forums !!
We are very excited to announce the launch of our new MyNetResearch Forums. Many of our members have, over the last year, suggested that we improve our previous basic forums. We listened and acted on their suggestions.
Our new state-of-the-art forums are the ultimate destination for research discussion and knowledge exchange. To see why we are so excited, please visit the new MyNetResearch forums at: http://forums.mynetresearch.com.
Anyone can read the posts, but only MNR members can post. To post, login using your MNR Username and Password or login normally at MyNetResearch and go to the forums from there.
Take a look at our new layout below.

Discuss doctoral student issues such as teaching, dissertation, and life balance. Post conference information and calls for chapters, or discuss the joys and challenges of research in the community forum. These new forum opportunities will create even stronger collaborations among researchers worldwide.
As the #1 research website with over 7,250 members, we are proud to now have world-class Forums that befit our members' needs and expectations.
Invite a Colleague
We've made it easier for you to invite a friend or colleague to share the benefits of MyNetResearch, and now our new forums. Don't keep something this good to yourself.
The bigger the community, the better the collaboration for everyone!! So, invite a colleague today by clicking here and entering up to 4 email addresses. We'll do the rest!
MNR Enhancements
Our new Forums boast enhanced user interface and a sleeker, more pleasing appearance, and will be a hit with our community and beyond. Connecting just became easier with our expanded forum capability. We have added new forums to the specific disciplines.
In the forums, organized by discipline, look out for Calls for Grants identified by our Grants Editor. Each week, look in the discipline forums to find the Calls for Grants, together with ideas for possible proposals. Interested researchers who coalesce around a grant proposal will receive the assistance of a MyNetResearch facilitator, who will advise collaborators on grant proposals, provide grant templates, and even help with an initial review.
MNR Usage Tips
My Toolbox (Horizontal Toolbar)
Tools for the research enterprise play a critical part in the success of the individual researcher. MyNetResearch enhances its members’ research by providing six powerful tools to help in various stages of any research project. We will profile one tool in each of the next several newsletters. Access to these tools is available to Premium or Institutional members.
Research Methods Adviser: Obtain assistance in making decisions on a variety of research methodology tasks. The Adviser provides guidance on selecting research designs, sampling techniques, and statistical tests. Providing answers to prompt questions leads one to potential research methods.

Computers Enhance Face-to-Face Collaboration
While we often think of research collaboration as conducted via the Internet, stand-alone computers can enhance face-to-face collaboration. EU-funded research initiatives called LEAD show that students can solve problems, master subject matter, and learn to collaborate more effectively when specific software tools enhance their face-to-face communication.
Individual learning and problem solving alone do not prepare students adequately for the interactive and collaborative settings they will encounter later in life. The primary software tool created by the LEAD team called CoFFEE, for Collaborative Face to Face Educational Environment, is freely available as open-source software, installed easily on any local area network. Because CoFFEE is designed to foster communication and problem solving in class rather than learning at a distance, it does not require an internet link (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/05/090525134153.htm).
To be effective, researchers, like students, need to be capable of working with a variety of computer-enhanced tools. A mark of excellent researchers is the ability to weave an efficient web of tools. Furthermore, excellent researchers should be vigilant in spotting new technologies and software which can foster a collaborative environment.
