MyNetResearch Passes the 5000-Member Mark!!
We are proud to announce that our membership has exceeded 5,000 members!! This is a great milestone for us all. We are now the largest research community in the world - researchers from academia and industry, and from 95 countries. As I write this morning, our membership actually stands at 5,100 members.
Congratulations first, to you- members of MNR, to the MyNetResearch Team, to our Board of Advisers, Editorial Board, our Campus Representatives and to our friends and supporters. Please continue to send in ideas for improvements to me, the Senior Editor, at barinze@mynetresearch.com.
Let's continue to grow our community. If we all brought in a colleague, we could double the size of the community overnight! For the month of March, if a new member emails me at the above address with your username (or email address) as a referrer, we will give you a month's free upgrade (or extension) to Premium Membership.

How Do Research Collaborators Communicate?

According to a recent study, e-mail is the most common medium by which researchers communicate with each other. Less than 4% of the researchers used texting or instant messaging to communicate with their collaborators. This is surprising, given that over 60% of the population text or use instant messaging.
How do you communicate with your research collaborators? Take this short poll, at: http://is.gd/jOSd
MNR Wiki
The MyNetResearch Wiki is a member-created and managed collection of research consortia. These range from industry consortia and academic consortia to combined industry/academic consortia. This is a unique research wiki that documents all the projects being carried out by these groups of researchers.

MyNetResearch White Paper
The “Go-Green” or “Greening” Movement is especially popular and very important as we all strive to protect the future of our planet. Greening efforts aim at either how consumers or organizations can “do green” (or how they do not “do green”). A recent study looked at how researchers can contribute to the "Greening" movement by changing their practices to conduct research using online research portals (Web 2.0 technology) contributing to the reduction in the amount of paper generated in printing and reducing the carbon footprint by reducing travel. Web 2.0 technologies describe the changing trends in the use of the World Wide Web technology and web design that aim to enhance creativity, communications, secure information sharing, collaboration and functionality of the web. Read the White Paper here.

Discipline Specific Grant-Writing Forums
In the forums, organized by discipline, look out for Calls for Grants identified by our Grants Editor. Each week, look in the discipline forums to find the Calls for Grants, together with ideas for possible proposals. Interested researchers who coalesce around a grant proposal will receive the assistance of a MyNetResearch facilitator, who will advise collaborators on grant proposals, provide grant templates, and even help with an initial review. Visit the forums often and look out for new information on grants.
